I’m a female in my mid 20’s living on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. Having lived in Melbourne for a few years (arguably the food capital of Australia) my partner and I used to enjoy reading the restaurant reviews in The Age’s Epicure section and looked forward to trying out new restaurants recommended by the Age good food guide and the cheap eats guide books as they helped us to discover some fantastic restaurants, cafe’s and provendors throughout Melbourne.
We set up Gold Coast Food Guide when we moved back to the Gold Coast after discovering a lack of unbiased restaurant reviews. It seemed the local press only ran ‘reviews’ when a restaurant placed an ad in their paper and there wasn’t a dedicated Gold Coast food guide book. We hope that this website will form a community where passionate food lovers can share their honest dining experiences and hopefully together we can discover some fantastic restaurants and eateries on the Gold Coast.
